More and more people are looking for healthier drink options, and non-alcoholic craft beers are a great choice. With increasing demand, we've seen an exciting array of breweries and non-alcoholic craft beer styles burst into the market. Check out this article to learn more about the rise of non-alcoholic craft beer.

WTF is non-alcoholic craft beer, anyway?

Craft beer is a term used for a beer made in a traditional or artisanal way, often with unusual ingredients or flavours. The term “craft beer” is used to differentiate these beers from the large commercial breweries. Non-alcoholic craft beers are exactly like their alcohol-filled cousins and often come in the same variety of styles, but just without the alcohol.

Brewing non-alcoholic craft beer is very similar to brewing regular beer. The main difference is that the fermentable sugars are eliminated, so that the beer does not contain any alcohol. There are a few different ways to achieve this, but the most common is to use a yeast that does not produce alcohol.

No alcohol, no worries!

Brewers have responded to this rise in demand for non-alcoholic crafties by developing a wide range of delicious and actually very innovative non-alcoholic brews.

For many people, non-alcoholic beer is a healthier alternative to regular beer and studies have shown that moderate alcohol consumption can have some health benefits, but those benefits are quickly negated by the harmful effects of excessive drinking. Non-alcoholic beer allows people to enjoy all the banging flavours of craft beer, without the less than ideal side effects and the ability to still drive home.

Lose the booze

Breweries and beer lovers alike are starting to take notice of the non-alcoholic craft beer movement, and we’re glad to say non-alcoholic craft beer is here to stay! So whether you’re looking for a healthier option or simply want to try something a bit different, grab a couple of non-alcoholic crafties and give them a go - you’re bound to find a banger!
